The Library Information section includes information on hours, closings, the board of trustees, the staff, library history, grants, library cards and our checkout and overdue policy.

Grants Awarded in 2011-2012  

March, 2011:

Illinois State Library Per Capita Grant was awarded in the amount of $2,503.07.  The funds will go toward books and supplies for the library.

June, 2011:

Mary Heath Foundation Grant was awarded in the amount of $11,851.  The funds are going toward archiving old Palestine Register newspapers, Heritage Quest, brochures, and framing old pictures.

October 2011:

Leo Herning Grant was awarded in the amount of $4,271 to host computer workshops, purchase a laptop and software for the workshops.

Claypool Grant was awarded in the amount of $245 to host a summer reading program, 2012.

February 2012:

Per Capita Grant was awarded in the amount of $2,430.44 to purchase books and supplies.

December 2012:

Mary Heath Foundation Grant was awarded in the amount of $3,000 to provide the eBook lending service through Overdrive for a full year.  The ebooks purchased will remain with the Southern Illinois Libraries on the Go regardless of the libraries enrollment.

March 2013:

Per Capita Grant was awarded in the amount of $2,435.53 to purchase books and supplies.
